Synopsis:

Shortly after beaming down to a planet in the Gamma Trianguli system three crew members die.  Soon Kirk meets up with a group of villagers who call themselves the 'feeders of Vaal'.  Scotty, in the meantime, reports that the Enterprise has lost power and is in danger of crashing into the planet. Kiek must figure out the connection between these peaceful villagers and the enormous power that is threatening the Enterprise.

This episode receives a seven just for the scantily clad (though outlandishly made up) females.  This demonstrates clearly how Star Trek was pushing the female issue and breaking new ground for television.    All Baywatch fans should watch this episode and thank it for breaking the hard ground of television.     The special effects in this show are pretty good and the villagers certainly demonstrate the gulf between being told what to do and actually doing it.    They get their peace loving butts kicked.    This is a fun episode and the Tyrannasaurus like Vaal just adds to the ancient Volcano god feel of it.    I like this episode but can only bring myself to give it a rating of seven.
