Synopsis:

When a Klingon ship reports a debris field in orbit of the completely inhospitable planet of Theta VIII, the Enterprise goes to investigate. When they beam aboard a piece of the debris, they find an American flag on the debris, a flag with 52 stars which would place the spacecraft's launch date around July 23, 2037. Captain Steven Richey crashed landed on the planet's surface where some aliens made a dwelling out of a novel that was aboard the Charybdis (the spacecraft's name) called The Royale. An away team from the Enterprise beams down and goes inside the mock Hotel Royale. They soon find they can't leave until the climax of the story is over.
