Synopsis:

That old trickster Q is up to his usual things again. This time, he takes Capt. Picard away in a shuttle to a remote sector of space so that he can talk to Picard. After Picard states that the Enterprise and her crew and ready and capable to face anything thrown at them, Q hurls the Enterprise 7,000 light years away from the nearest Federation outpost. While out there, the Enterprise encounters a strange cube shaped ship. Guinan tells Picard that that ship is a Borg ship. the Borg was the race that destroyed her homeworld many years ago. She tells Picard that he must get the Enterprise back to Federation space immediatley. But, being curious, Picard sends an away team onto the Borg ship. They come back with valuable information, but the Borg ship retaliates, slicing a whole section out of the Enterprise's suacer. There is a running battle, and soon Q shows up and Picard begs him to send them back to Federation space. Q does and lets them be, but leaving Picard with a great line, "If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you should go back home and stay there." Guinan lets Picard know that the Borg know the Federation is out there-and that they will be coming-soon.
