Synopsis: After Starfleet offers Riker a command, the first officer must undergo a briefing by his father, Kyle Riker. Riker has a problem with his father that goes back to his boyhood years. Will and his dad make up through the episode and have a better relationship. Forgiving someone should be easy but it isn't. You have to learn to and you also have to learn that everyone has problems and its just the human way of things. This episode shows this and I can relate. But still, once you get a scar, it can't go away, but it can be forgotten and healed. But when things come back, like Comander Riker's father and all the problems, the scars become a wound. And I know this first hand. 70 times 7 you should forgive someone, and that's another thing this episode deals with. I gave it ten insignias becuase it was a great story and something that has happened to me in my life and just like the scars that were closed with Commander Riker and his father, the scars have been closed on me. Also, this episode has done something that Star Trek excels at, getting the uncomfortable things that go on in our lives out in the open. Truly an excellent episode. |
