When he was five years old Spock came home upset because Vulcan boys had tormented him saying he wasn't really Vulcan. As a child he had a pet sehlat which his mother described as "sort of a live Vulcan teddy bear". Spock had an older brother Sybok who was not acknowledged by his father since he chose the human road. At the age of seven Spock was telepathically bonded to his future mate, T'Pring. The same anti-human prejudice which drove Sybok to renounce Vulcan logic may have paved the way for Spock to join Starfleet. This drove a wedge between Spock and his father. Spock's service aboard the Enterprise was superb and his intervention proved to be the ship's salvation on numerous occasions. Spock died in 2285 during the battle with Khan Noonien Singh. The Genesis device that Khan set off subsequently brought him back to life. Spock had planted his katra in Dr. McCoy and it was reunited with his body. In later years Spock became a renowned diplomat. One of his main goals was to see a reunification of the Vulcan and Romulan races. The Enterprise, with Spock as 1st officer, discovered the close relationship between the two races. As far as we know, at the current time Spock is still on Romulus attempting to bring about the change necessary for reunification.
