Beverly Crusher ( Cheryl Gates McFadden ). Born Beverly Howard in 2324.   Beverly graduated from medical school in 2350.  She was at Arvada III and helped her grandmother care, Felisa Howard, care for survivors of that tragedy.   This experience gave her a lot of knowledge about herbal and traditional medicines.  She was introduced to her future husband Jack Crusher by their mutual friend Walker Keel. She married Jack in 2348, and had one child, Wesley, with him.   One of their closest friends was Jean Luc Picard.   She found out years later that Jean Luc had fallen in love with her but didn't act on those feelings out of honor and friendship.

Crusher did her internship on planet Delos IV under the tutelage of Dr. Dalen Quaice in 2352.   Following her husbands death in 2354 Beverly continued to pursue her Starfleet career, attaining the position of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) aboard the Enterprise D in 2364.   She left the Enterprise D in 2365 to accept a position as head of Starfleet Medical but returned to the ship a year later.    This reunited her with her son Wesley who had opted to remain aboard.    Her maternal grandmother died in 2370.  

Beverly is an accomplished dancer but hated being called "The Dancing Doctor" so she refrained from it aboard the Enterprise D.  However, the fact that she had taken 1st place in a competition was part of her record so Data asked her to coach him for Miles and Keiko's wedding.    Beverly is also very interested in drama and has a drama company aboard the Enterprise that has performed, among other things, Cyrano De Bergerac, The Pirates of Penzance, and an original Something For Breakfast written by Dr. Crusher.
